Jeremy Chardy
Jérémy Chardy was born at 12 February 1987 in Pau, France. He is a French professional tennis player. He won the 2005 Wimbledon Championships Boys' Singles title, and finished as the runner-up of the 2005 US Open Boys' Singles, losing to Ryan Sweeting. His career high rank was 31, achieved on November 2, 2009.
Chardy made his Grand Slam debut in 2006, benefitting of a wild card at the French Open, where he beat Jonas Björkman in straight sets in the first round before losing in four sets to fifteenth-seeded David Ferrer in the second round.
In 2008, after losing the final of the Marrakech Challenger in May to eventual French Open semifinalist Gaël Monfils, Chardy produced his best Grand Slam showing so far in his professional career at the French Open, where he entered as a wild card, and came back in the second round from being led two-sets-to-love by ATP No. 6 David Nalbandian to defeat him 3–6, 4–6, 6–2, 6–1, 6–2. He continued his run beating thirtieth seed Dmitry Tursunov 7–6(1), 6–3, 6–4, before losing in the fourth round to nineteenth seed Nicolás Almagro 7–6(0) 7–6(7), 7–5, after holding set points in each of the three sets.
In 2009 he began with a first round loss in Doha before reaching the quarterfinals in Sydney, where he fell to Richard Gasquet 6–2, 7–6(4). At the Australian Open he fell in the second round to defending champion Novak Djoković 7–5, 6–1, 6–3.
In his next tournament at Johannesburg, he reached the semifinals following 3 straight sets wins. In the semi-final he came up against World #13 David Ferrer and saved 3 match points in the second set to beat him 1–6, 7–6(9), 7–6(4), and reach his first ATP final.[1] However, he lost the final to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6–4, 7–6(5).
He lost in the opening round of his next tournament, the 2009 Open 13 in Marseille to Novak Djokovic 7–6(4), 6–4. In Delray Beach he was seeded 7th and started by beating Tommy Haas 7–6(7), 6–3. He followed it up with victories over Andrey Golubev 7–6(4), 7–5 and Marcos Baghdatis 7–6(7), 7–6(3). He fell in the semifinals to top seed and eventual winner Mardy Fish 6–4, 6–1.
Chardy frequently plays doubles with compatriot Gilles Simon. They most recently competed at the Monte Carlo Masters together, losing to Nikolay Davydenko and Oliver Marach in the first round, 6–4, 6–1. At Wimbledon, Chardy lost in the first round to eventual finalist Andy Roddick 6–3, 7–6(3), 4–6, 6–3.
Next, Chardy played at the MercedesCup in Stuttgart. He first beat José Acasuso 6–2, 7–6(4), then Martín Vassallo Argüello 2–6, 6–3, 6–1. He then defeated local hopes Mischa Zverev 7–6(4), 6–1 and Nicolas Kiefer 6–3, 7–5 on the same day to reach his second career final, where he triumphed over fourth-seeded Victor Hănescu 1–6, 6–3, 6–4 to clinch his maiden ATP title.
At the beginning of the 2010 season, he started poorly; losing in the first rounds of the Brisbane International, Heineken Open, the Australian Open, and at the SAP Open. However he finally registered his first win in the tour, at the 2010 Regions Morgan Keegan Championships in style, as he beat no.2 seed Fernando Verdasco 7–6(4), 6–3 in the first round. This was arguably his best win to date and only his fourth ever win against a top 10 player. At the 2010 Rogers Cup, Chardy defeated Verdasco once more in the second round and followed this up with an easy win over the sixth-ranked Nikolay Davydenko in the round of 16, before losing to Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-3 in the quarter-finals.
Alessandro Del Piero
Alessandro Del Piero Cavaliere Ufficiale OMRI (born November 9, 1974 in Conegliano, Veneto) is an Italian World Cup-winning footballer who plays for Serie A club Juventus. Del Piero was named in the FIFA 100, a list of the 125 greatest living footballers selected by Pelé as a part of FIFA's centenary celebrations. Del Piero was also voted in the list of best European players for the past 50 years in the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll. In the year 2000, Del Piero was the world's best-paid football player from salary, bonuses and advertising revenue. Along with three awards in Italy for gentlemanly conduct he has also won the Golden Foot award, which pertains to personality and playing ability. Del Piero usually plays as a supporting-striker and occasionally between the midfield and the strikers, known in Italy as the "trequartista" position. Although he is not very tall, Del Piero's playing style is regarded by critics as creative in attacking, assisting many goals as well as scoring himself, as opposed to just "goal poaching." His free-kick and penalty taking is also highly regarded. Del Piero has become famous over the years for scoring from a special "Del Piero Zone"("Gol alla Del Piero"), approaching from the left flank and curling a precise lob into the far top corner of the goal.
Barry Bonds
Barry Lamar Bonds (born July 24, 1964) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder. Bonds played from 1986 to 2007, for the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants. He is the son of former major league All-Star Bobby Bonds. He debuted in the Major Leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1986 and joined the San Francisco Giants in 1993, where he stayed through 2007.
Bonds' accomplishments during his baseball career place him among the greatest baseball players of all-time. He has a record-setting seven Most Valuable Player awards, including a record-setting four consecutive MVPs. He is a 14-time All-Star and 8-time Gold Glove-winner. He holds numerous Major League Baseball records, including the all-time Major League Baseball home run record with 762 and the single-season Major League record for home runs with 73 (set in 2001), and is also the all-time career leader in both walks (2,558) and intentional walks (688).
Bonds has led a controversial career, notably as a central figure in baseball's steroids scandal. In 2007, he was indicted on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice for allegedly lying to the grand jury during the government's investigation of BALCO, by testifying that he never knowingly took any illegal steroids. The trial is currently scheduled to begin March 21, 2011.Bonds withdrew from the MLB Players Association's (MLBPA) licensing agreement because he felt independent marketing deals would be more lucrative for him. Bonds is the first player in the thirty-year history of the licensing program not to sign. Because of this withdrawal, his name and likeness are not usable in any merchandise licensed by the MLBPA. In order to use his name or likeness, a company must deal directly with Bonds. For this reason he does not appear in some baseball video games, forcing game-makers to create generic athletes to replace him. For example, Bonds is replaced by "Jon Dowd" in MVP Baseball 2005.Besides holding Major League career records in home runs (762), walks (2,558), and intentional walks (688), Bonds also leads all active players in RBI (1,996), on-base percentage (.444), runs (2,227), games (2,986), extra-base hits (1,440), at-bats per home run (12.92), and total bases (5,976). He is 2nd in doubles (601), slugging percentage (.607), stolen bases (514), at-bats (9,847), and hits (2,935), 6th in triples (77), 8th in sacrifice flies (91), and 9th in strikeouts (1,539), through September 26, 2007. Bonds is the lone member of the 500–500 club, which means he has hit at least 500 home runs (762) and stolen 500 bases (514). He is also one of only four baseball players all-time to be in the 40–40 club (1996), which means he hit 40 home runs (42) and stole 40 bases (40) in the same season; the other members are José Canseco, Alex Rodriguez and Alfonso Soriano.

Phil Mickelson
Philip Alfred Mickelson (born June 16, 1970) is an American professional golfer. He has won four major championships and a total of 38 events on the PGA Tour. He has reached a career high world ranking of 2nd in multiple years. He is nicknamed "Lefty" for his left-handed swing, even though he is otherwise right-handed. According to estimates by Fortune Magazine, Mickelson's income for 2007 was over $51 million, with $47 million coming from endorsements. As a professional competitor, Mickelson's playing style is described by many as "aggressive" and highly social.Sometimes, his strategy towards difficult shots (bad lies, obstructions) tends to be what may be considered risky and a gamble.
On April 11, 2010, Mickelson won the 2010 Masters Tournament with a 16-under-par performance, giving him a three stroke win over Lee Westwood in Augusta, Georgia. The win marked the third Masters victory for Mickelson and his fourth major championship overall.Critical to Mickelson's win was a dramatic run in the third round on Saturday in which Mickelson, trailing leader Westwood by five strokes as he prepared his approach shot to the 13th green, proceeded to make eagle, then to hole-out for eagle from 141 yards at the next hole, the par 4 14th, then on the next, the par 5 15th, to miss eagle from 81 yards by mere inches. After tapping in for birdie at 15, Mickelson, at -12, led Westwood, at -11, who had bogeyed hole 12 and failed to capitalize on the par 5 13th, settling for par.Mickelson, who was one of the favorites for the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, shot 74 and 66 on Thursday and Friday to sit a shot off the lead. However two weekend scores of 73 gave him a T4 finish. During the rest of the 2010 season, Mickelson had multiple opportunities to become the number one player in the Official World Golf Rankings following the travails of TIger Woods. However a string of low finishes by Mickelson saw the number one spot eventually go to Englishman Lee Westwood.
Being a very popular golfer as well as a successful one, Mickelson is able to earn far more from endorsements than he does in prize money. According to a Sports Illustrated feature entitled "The Fortunate 50," Mickelson is the second-highest paid athlete in the world, behind only Tiger Woods. According to estimates by Fortune Magazine, Mickelson's income for 2007 was over $51 million, with $47 million coming from endorsements. Major companies which Mickelson currently endorses are KPMG, ExxonMobil (Mickelson and wife Amy started a teacher sponsorship fund with the company), Rolex, Barclays, and Callaway Golf. He was previously associated with Titleist and Ford, but their relationships have ended.
